License Tiers

4PointX modules are licensed individually based on usage metrics specific to the data type and application domain. The licensing applies at the module level, with restrictions defined by license tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

Energy Monitoring System (EMS)

  • License Purpose: Enables monitoring of energy data, including real-time usage, historical trends, and energy-specific KPIs.

  • Usage Metric: Monitoring Points

    • A Monitoring Point refers to a physical energy meter.

    • One edge device typically supports up to 20 monitoring points.

  • Independent Module: Can be licensed without dependencies on other modules.

Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)

  • License Purpose: Used for asset health monitoring through vibration parameters and fault detection.

  • Usage Metric: Monitoring Points

    • A Monitoring Point refers to a vibration sensor or a similar device.

    • One edge device typically supports 2–8 such points.

  • Independent Module: Can operate standalone.

IIoT Workbench

  • License Purpose: Core platform for ingesting and analyzing raw process data using the Discover plugin. Enables access to dashboards, alerting, and process monitors.

  • Key Permissions:

    • Create unlimited process monitors

    • View raw process data via the Discover plugin

    • Define alerts and thresholds

  • Usage Metrics: Tags and Data Size

    • A Tag refers to a raw data point (e.g., PLC tag, OPC tag).

    • Data size accumulates based on tag count, sampling rate, and retention period.

  • Independent Module: Required for all other process-data-based modules.

Process Anomaly (PA / PDM Module)

  • License Purpose: Adds advanced anomaly detection and correlation capabilities for raw process data.

  • Add-on Module: Cannot operate standalone.

  • License Dependency: Requires an active IIoT Workbench license

    • If the IIoT license expires, this module and associated gateways will stop functioning.

  • Usage Metrics: Tags and Data Size

    • Uses the same raw tags and storage metrics as IIoT Workbench.
